It's wet, rainy and cold out today...I must be turning another year older. It never fails...it's always this way on my birthday...except for one year it was actually nice and sunny. BUT there's always an exception to every rule right? At least it's not snowing here like some other parts in the country...*cough* Saskatoon *cough*
Although the weather was nice yesterday got a chance to get on the golf course for the first time this year. Didn't do too too bad considering I didn't hit the range at all beforehand. But again, always room for improvement.
Got Mario Kart Wii for my birthday...so far...a pretty solid game. I've been using the wii wheel that it comes with. It's really just a plastic shell that holds your wiimote in place like a steering wheel. It feels pretty good in the hands and it's not flimsy...I'm a fan. One major difference in Mario Kart Wii...you can race on bikes...they're pretty sweet.

4.52 - The One with the cake
Just a little update...we just found an apartment and we get it July 1st. It's located behind the mall so the convenience is great. Doesn't hurt that the grocery store is open 24/7. Wedding plans are going well. The production art for the wedding invitations is done and now there's just the printing and other minor details to be done. OH! and check out what the wedding cake will look like...

4.51 - The One with open letter to Best Buy
Dear Best Buy,
I understand that you are all about customer service and helping people with your Geek Squad. But please don't insult me or my fellow gamers intelligence. We don't need you to place our shiny new XBox 360 game into our disc tray when we want to play it.
thanks,
T

4.48 - The One with the cheese
What happens when your team is down 2-0 in a best of 7 and playing game 3 at home?
As a fan you cheer and make some noise...give the team an emotional boost.
What does the team do? Play their hearts out...leave everything on the ice...give 110%...blah blah blah...all that sports cliche stuff.
What does the PR and marketing department do? Dress up a guy in a Spartan costume ala 300...send him out to centre ice to make a rousing speech to fire up the fans...take a look...
I'm so glad I'm not an Ottawa Senators fan...that was just embarrassing...

4.44 - The One with the Math Trick
Here is a math trick so unbelievable that it will stump you...
- Grab a calculator. (you won't be able to do this one in your head)
- Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the area code)
- Multiply by 80
- Add 1
- Multiply by 250
- Add the last 4 digits of your phone number
- Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again.
- Subtract 250
- Divide number by 2

4.42 - The One with the botched call
Is there something in that ATL water that the officals are drinking? Kind of like "Mike's secret stuff" from Space Jam? Except it impairs them and makes them make bad calls. First was the Heat and Hawks game where Shaq "fouled" out, but really didn't. Now this one? There was 0.1 of a second that ticked away before TJ touched it!
That in my books is this season's PLAY OF THE YEAR. You could compare it to Dwight "Superman Lay-up" Howard's buzzer beating alley-oop last season. What makes it better is that No one even though about TJ going up and getting that. What an amazing play. Sam really pulled that one out of his sleeve. OH but wait! The officials called it back...riDUNKulous!

4.41 - The with the flying penguins
no I'm not talking about the Pittsburgh Penguins...although having Crosby, Malkin and Hossa on a line is pretty scary...The BBC has a new follow up to their amazing Planet Earth series with one about animals. Check out these penguins that they found...it's pretty spectacular!

Oh and this is pretty cool too!
Behold the Colossus Of Analog/Digital Convergence!
Here at ThinkGeek, we fully grok that digital convergence is all the rage. We've been stocking cassette and vinyl and other analog to digital media converters for years now. And for some reason you keep buying. But we felt like we were leaving out some folks. Specifically, many folks that recorded home movies between the year 1975 and about 1984. Think Air Supply, Pat Benatar, and 'Who Shot JR?' and you'll get the idea. So we took a trip to Awesome Town and picked up this nifty Betamax to HD-DVD converter - at a price that shouts "Totally Tubular". Betamax and HD-DVD are like a match literally made in heaven (you know, that place you go when you die?), and now you can get a slice for yourself. Featuring simple one-touch record between either format, your media has never felt less obsolete.
Did you know that with the introduction of Beta hi-fi audio, the Betamax lost its slim luminance horizontal resolution advantage to VHS? And did you also know that a dual-layer HD DVD holds a maximum of 30 GB of data and a comparable Blu-ray Disc holds a maximum of 50 GB? Mere coincidence? We think not!
Features:
- One button transfer between Betamax and HD-DVD
- Play and Record both Super and regular BetaMax
- Blah, blah, blah
- Uses electricity
- Has a manual
- Something else
- Frakkin' sweet remote
- You aren't even reading this
