2.87 - The One with the double win

Tonight we were at Lesley's playing 'Scene It?' the DVD trivia movie game. All us us being relatively new to the game, we breezed through the instructions, made a bowl of popcorn and proceeded to play. Some of the questions were rather easy, other's were just mean and hard. To make a long story short...I won the game...twice. That's right...I finished way ahead of everyone else and not wanting to quit, I placed my piece back at the start and continued to play on my turn. With everyone in the 'Final Cut' circle, not being able to correctly answer the questions...I finished up my second lap around the board and got to the end. I answered my 'Final Cut' questions and won the game...for the second time. Mind you my final three questions were ridiculously easy. I'm not THAT much of a movie geek...

2.86 - The One where...why bother?

I found this article online...rather funny I think

It's so much more glamorous when a star can create the illusion that their talent breezes in effortlessly. And then there's Paris Hilton, who was photographed leaving a store with a karaoke machine under her arm. With a tour to prepare for and not much evidence she can sing without a team of producers crafting her voice out of spare robot parts, girl has some practicing to do. What's next, Dance Dance Revolution to help her choreograph her routines?

I'm still not convinced that it's actually Paris singing on her album. Unless she breaks out in song in front of me I'll be skeptical...even if that's the case...I probably be still skeptical. So by a show of hands...who has the cd? Anyone?

2.85 - The one with the difference

People ask me, what's the difference between a web programmer and a web designer...this is how a programmer thinks:

and this is for all my fellow txt'ers

2.84 - The One to think about

a couple things to think about...

aoccdring to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtsy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a total mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.
People can be divided into three groups
  1. those who make things happen
  2. those who watch things happen
  3. and those who wonder what happened

which group do you fall into?

2.83 - The One with the new shuffle

no I'm not talking abou the dance...or the Kansas City Shuffle (see Lucky Number Slevin and you'll understand...), I'm talking about the new iPod shuffle. Check it out

2.82 - The One with the unprecedented contract

Toady the New York Islanders signed their starting goalie, Rick DiPietro to a $67.5 million, 15-year deal. That's right...15 years. That's what you call job security...especially if you're a professional athelete. Any time you could sustain a career ending injury. Congrats to DiPietro...but to the Islanders management...what were you thinking?

The only other athelete to have a longer contract was Magic Johnson, who signed a 25-year deal with the Lakers back in 1981...that means his contract expires this year. He retired in 1991 after contracting HIV...15 years of being paid and not playing...I can handle that.

2.79 - The One with the leaking ceiling

  • USA Basketball...hahahahahaha. You lost to Greece? are you serious? Spain demolished Greece in the final...ouch
  • Why do all the contestants on Wheel of Fortune have to YELL ALL THE TIME?
  • furthermore Vanna's dress looked like a piñata the other night
  • R.I.P Steve Irwin, aka The Crocodile Hunter. Met his fate by a stingray. Can't say I'm surprised that he went this least he was doiung what he loved.
  • Tiger Woods - 5 tournament wins in a row...very impressive. He makes it look so easy...
  • Rebecca and Jered's wedding this weekend was great fun...lots of laughs...too much much so that water was leaking from the ceiling at Victoria Hall
  • funny moment when I brought in Jim and Sharon's baby into the hall just before the wedding party was to enter. Nothing like a hundred people staring at you
  • the wedding confetti that we threw at the bride and groom didn't taste all that bad.
  • back to the ceiling...Rebecca (not the one that got married...) had the most annoyed/disgusted look on her face when she discovered that she was getting wet...indoors.
  • One last thing...I broke a glass by trying to toss a mint into it. I got it the mint in another glass just prior and I pushed my luck. Should have quit when I was ahead...oh and was your glass I broke
git r done

2.78 - The One out of context

Ever see a person that you know out of context? You know them from work/school/whatever and that's the only place you ever see them. Then you see them somewhere else and you don't recognize them...they recognize you...and then you feel like a fool. That happened to me tonight. We were at Casey's for wings and I saw a girl who I work with. She saw me...I looked right at her, and she waved at me. I thought she was waving at someone behind me so I ignored her. As I was pulling out from my parking spot she was out in the lot and she says, "HEY!! thanks for ignoring me...I waved at you!"

oh...uhhh...ya...sorry...I thought you were waving at someone else...

I honestly did not recognize her, she dressed and looked totally different...I'm sure she'll bring it up next time I see her at work to make me feel more foolish...
