34.7 seconds...34.7 SECONDS!!! That's the difference between going back to Pittsburgh for game 6 and hoisting the Cup in victory. Then came the 3 OT's and the heart breaking Penguins goal. I guess we still have 2 more shots at winning the Cup. Let's Go Wings!
Anyone catch the National Spelling Bee? I saw that it was on TSN on Friday...TSN...short for The Sports Network. I didn't know spelling was a sport. I think they should have a Gaming Network where they show Poker, Billiards, Darts, Dog Shows, and spelling bees. Keep that other stuff off of the sports channels. That being said...this clip was from the ABC broadcast...

I picked up Wii Fit today...probably going to get my butt kicked by it...I might need a numnah after this...

4.55 - The One with the predictable weather
It's wet, rainy and cold out today...I must be turning another year older. It never fails...it's always this way on my birthday...except for one year it was actually nice and sunny. BUT there's always an exception to every rule right? At least it's not snowing here like some other parts in the country...*cough* Saskatoon *cough*
Although the weather was nice yesterday got a chance to get on the golf course for the first time this year. Didn't do too too bad considering I didn't hit the range at all beforehand. But again, always room for improvement.
Got Mario Kart Wii for my birthday...so far...a pretty solid game. I've been using the wii wheel that it comes with. It's really just a plastic shell that holds your wiimote in place like a steering wheel. It feels pretty good in the hands and it's not flimsy...I'm a fan. One major difference in Mario Kart Wii...you can race on bikes...they're pretty sweet.

4.32 - The One with even more snow
I know I posted this comic in December...but this this basically is what summed up my weekend. You should see my driveway...it looks like a fort because of all the snow piled up around it. I heard that there is more snow coming, at least we're supposed to have an entire week without it dumping on us...
I also picked up my copy of Super Smash Brothers Brawl for my Wii. Sweet game...took me awhile to get used to using the wiimote and nunchuck to play. The only complaint is that you can't swing the wiimote around to play...but overall, it's loads of fun. Now to find a chiropractor...

4.23 - The One with the 3 Red Rings
3 Red Rings...
I didn't think it would happen to me...
...I've heard it happening to others...but not me...
...but...it happened...
my XBox 360 finally succumbed the infamous 3 Red Rings of death. Basically it means there's a hardware failure and it's not going to work anymore. Luckily Microsoft is pretty good about this and will fix it for free. But that means no Rock Band for a month!
Well I still have my Wii...and ever since I got Rock Band, I haven't paid much attention to my Wii. It looks lonely...it's a good thing that Smash Bros. Brawl is coming out soon...

3.100 - The One with shortage of Wii's
WOW...Rock Band is amazing!! From opening the box, to setting up the drums, the Fender Stratocastor and the mic. A bunch of people came by last night to help me christen my copy of Rock Band. Time flew by...fun was had by all...here's my initial review...
band name: cāpo3
- the Strat...I like the size, the look, but it feels flimsy...getting the "Overdrive" to work seems like a chore...
- the higher frets for solos - I used them once of twice but I don't see much of an advantage of using them (if you can prove me wrong...I'm all ears)
- drumming is really fun...except I suck at it so far...(I'm a pianist, singer, and a guitarist by trade...could never drum correctly) The bass pedal is kinda cheap looking...you'd think that they could make better one that doesn't look like you can break it by just breathing on it.
- the singing is done well...if you know how to sing the sing you'll get a high score...even if you don't know the song...you can just keep the pitch and you'll do great. The mic itself is solid
- 4 players in the band was loads of fun...don't like how you can't switch instruments with your characters.
- the song selection was alright...playing the mystery sets or the challenge sets was getting a little repetitive. I think we played Say it Ain't So and In Bloom back to back about 5 times tonight. But...if we were a real band on tour...we'd be playing the same songs every show.
- custom characters - LOVE IT...lots to play with there
- haven't gone online yet...but soon...I hope it's pretty good
- solid game so far...lots of challenges and things to do
- better than Guitar Hero by far as a game. Still not to crazy about the Strat...
to me...it was worth the wait...can't wait to play it more...if you want to come by and play...just let me know...
Rock Band wasn't the only thing that's almost impossible to get this Christmas...reports have Nintendo losing over $1 Billion because they can't keep up the the demands for the Wii...$1 BILLION!!! I think I found the reason why...

3.85 - The One with the registry
This past weekend, Naomi and I started our wedding registry. It was a little overwhelming...so much stuff to get...so little time. It's a good thing we're going to register at more than one place because some of the stuff that we found wasn't that nice. Hopefully we'll find better stuff elsewhere...the scanning with the gun was pretty fun I must admit...
I finally got my Wiimote covers in the mail...they were easy to "install", but since I have a charger for them, I'll have to take them off after each use...they have a funky smell to them. It's not rubber, I'm not sure what it is...funny thing is, everyone that's seen them, the first thing they do is smell them. What's the fascination? It's like we're drawn to weird smells.
OH, Vince Carter is out indefinitely with another sprained ankle...suckers

3.81 - The One with the wee Wii
alright, get you mind outta the gutter...but you have to go check this site out. It's called Paper Art Gadgets...they make, design and post miniature paper models of some of your favorite electronic items such as the iPhone, PS3, Atari 2600 and even the Wii. It's pretty sweet what you can do with just paper and a little imagination. Now to have the time and the patience to make one of these...

3.76 - The One with the Vii
Ladies and Gentlemen, I'd like to introduce the Vii...that's right Vii. The chinese knockoff of the Wii. I saw this article on engadget and was blown away. I feel sorry for the kid that asks his parents for a Wii for Christmas and ends up with a Vii...poor kid

3.72 -The One with the Wii condom
I'm not sure what to think of this...Nintendo is spending over $18 million to supply all Wii owners with what they call the "Wii Remote Jacket" for free. It's supposed to help with your grip of the remote and I guess add protection to those who get smacked with it.
All you have to do to get one of these is to go on the wii.com site and submit your Wii serial number and the numbers of "remote jackets" that you want. So far I haven't been very successful in getting past that stage. Every time I try it gives me this error:
"Our records indicate that your request for additional Wii Remote Jacket(s) has exceeded the maximum quantity allowed per Wii serial number."
That happened on the first time I tried...and the second time...anyways, I've e-mailed the support department and hopefully I'll get my free Wii condom...errr..."remote jacket".
**UPDATE**
Nintendo got back to me...
Hello,
I'm sorry to hear that you had a problem placing your order for the Wii Remote Jacket. We are aware of the problem and are working on a solution. Please wait a few days before trying to place your order again. When you return to the website and place your order again, you should be able to view the order confirmation page displaying your seven-digit order number. This means your order was successfully completed. Considering that orders will not begin shipping until October 15th, the wait should not delay your order once it does go through. On behalf of Nintendo, I thank you for your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.
Sincerely, Nintendo of America Inc.
looks like I'll be getting my condoms...I wonder if they come in different flavors?
